About me
My name is Marina Paes and I am an experienced Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist working as Lead for Psychodynamic Psychotherapies in an NHS Specialist Psychotherapy Service and in private practice.
Over the past 16 years, I have offered weekly, intensive, intermittent, couples and group psychotherapy to people with a very wide range of mental health problems, of varying severity and complexities, in different settings. I have worked in different NHS secondary care services, other NHS and third-sector services and in private practice.
“I am grateful to you for our sessions. I felt deeply met and heard and I was touched at how we were together at the end of the session as two human beings open to one another. It was a difficult process, but I think we both did a very good job.”
“Marina helped me to see things in myself that I found painful to be in touch with. It has been a rewarding experience and I feel better to have gone through it together.”
What I offer
Psychotherapy offers a space in which the individual can explore problems, feelings and thoughts and gain a deeper insight into the difficulties that might have brought them to look for support.
Anyone who has some strengths and potential for change can benefit from psychotherapy, regardless of how difficult things are at the time of the initial consultation.
Psychotherapy should help you become aware of hidden meanings or patterns that may be contributing to your problems. The aim is to improve mental and emotional wellbeing by bringing about awareness and change.
