About me

Julia is mother to a family whose emotional health and balance owes much to this cutting edge therapy. Having searched for years for an effective and drug free treatment for emotional and physical illnesses in her family, she qualified in EFT, which allows her to combine her linguistic skills, her degree training in the analysis of peoples stories to identify core issues and her experience of trauma throughout her life with her training in reiki to bring balance and peace back to her clients. Having trained with Dr Lori Leyden PhD MBA in advanced trauma techniques, many people come to Julia with an anxiety and PTSD but she is also good with inflammatory pain. Julia uses EFT on herself too and her previously high blood pressure is now normal.

The client always remains completely in control of the pace and direction of our work throughout.

"I suffered from a very painful tennis elbow for many months when Julia suggested I try EFT. At first a little sceptic as nothing else had worked, we embarked on our EFT session and during the one hour together, I literally 'felt' the pain shift from the elbow to the lower arm and over the next days it completely disappeared. I am amazed and so pleased as I can now use my arm as I did before, without any pain and discomfort.

"I have been having sessions with Julia for around 8 weeks now. Having tried all sorts of counselling and self help I have to say that the work in these sessions has been deeper and the changes more profound than anything I have tried before.  We have strayed gently into areas of my childhood - including trauma - that up until now I have resisted and denied that I  needed to unpack  - having always considered it too big a worm jar to open. Julia has deftly, compassionately and with great skill started to lift the lid and peel away the layers - most importantly replacing some of those long held beliefs and behaviours with more beneficial, self nourishing and helpful ones."

What I offer

EFT (or ‘Meridian Tapping’) is a kind of acupressure technique where certain points on the upper body are tapped with the fingers while holding a thought or a memory in the mind. It is a powerful, clinically proven, way of regulating the nervous system, reducing the stress hormone cortisol and eliciting a feeling of calm.

Described as the most significant discovery in 21st century medicine in the emerging field of psychoimmunology, EFT combines the latest thinking in neurobiology, linguistics, psychology and trauma, with the meridian system used in acupuncture. EFT has been used with outstanding results over the past 18 years in Rwanda following the genocide and more recently in the USA following a spate of school shootings. It is now being used in the UK as the most effective treatment available to bring the traumatised Frontline back to ‘active service’.

"Julia is very person focussed throughout her sessions and makes you feel at ease at all times, checking constantly if all is ok. She explains the process very well and you can copy the gestures and movements needed for EFT as she does it with you. As a nurse and working within the medical model, I can see a great future for EFT as it is an alternate way of holistic care provided to an individual and can help and benefit hugely, in any area and for any person whatever the problem or issue. I would highly recommend EFT and wouldn't hesitate seeing Julia again."
