About me

My journey into counselling started in 2002, when I first sought counselling help during a personal crisis and I found that I benefitted from the space and time to understand myself more deeply. I was inspired to start my training in 2013, with a strong sense that my own experience as a client would shape my work as a counsellor.

My counselling approach is 'integrative'; this means that I’ve trained in the two main theoretical approaches (humanistic/person-centred and psychodynamic); and draw flexibly on a range of techniques to meet the unique needs of each individual client. I have also completed additional training courses to work with children and young people.

Outside of work my passions are cycling, dancing, health & healing, and politics.

"I have grown so much as a person and I feel so much more confident & stronger as a person!" P, Stroud

"[My son is now] doing so well at his new school and is fantastic talking about his feelings and altogether getting on with his teenage years brilliantly." S, Cirencester

What I offer

You may be finding it difficult to cope, and feel alone? You may be struggling after a trauma or bereavement, separation, or with ill-health? Or maybe feel that your life is stuck, or lacking purpose? At times like these, counselling offers a space to explore your thoughts and feelings with someone who will strive to understand without judgement and help you make sense of your feelings, find clarity, or make decisions.

I offer all my clients Empathy, Congruence, and Unconditional Positive Regard. I also offer play, sand-tray, art and creative therapies to my younger clients. Home visits are available for those with restricted mobility.

Contact me to arrange an initial meeting - an opportunity for us to meet each other, explore what has brought you to counselling at this time, what you are hoping to get from the work, and whether I might be a suitable counsellor for you. This is a full 50-minute session, without further obligation, and I charge a full fee in advance.

"Thank you for all the help you have given me during the last couple of years in order to help me gain confidence and control my anxiety. The sessions we spent talking over issues I had faced definitely helped me to prepare.. and cope [with a new job]." B, Nailsworth

"I was very anxious about the summer holidays and the strain it would put on the family.. My daughter was so happy and relaxed, she was a totally different child!" J, Stroud
