About me
I have been a qualified counsellor since July 2024, having started training in September 2021 and having first had counselling myself in 2016. I completed my placement at Longfield hospice, where I continued to volunteer and subsequently work until September 2025. Since October 2024, I have been seeing private clients with a range of issues in Stroud, Gloucester and Chippenham.
My training is in person centred therapy, which focusses on your experience and the validity of this for you, as well as the relationship between us as our sessions develop.
In our sessions, my role is to really listen — to understand your experiences from your point of view — and to offer empathy, acceptance, and authenticity. These three elements are the foundation of person-centred therapy, and they help build a genuine, trusting relationship where you can feel truly heard.
What many clients find effective about this approach is that it gives them the space to connect more deeply with their own feelings, needs, and a sometimes hidden sense of true self. Over time, that understanding and self-acceptance can naturally lead to clearer choices, greater confidence, and a stronger sense of wellbeing.
What I offer
You may be facing challenges in your life that feel overwhelming or would like to gain a better understanding of what is going on for you. Perhaps what you are experiencing is due to a relationship, something to do with your job or studies, a bereavement or other loss, or something less definable - perhaps just a sense that something is not right for you which could be connected to low self esteem, depression, anxiety or neuro-diversity.
Whatever your difficulty is, and no matter how big or small it seems, I am here to help you. As a person-centred counsellor, my approach is based on the belief that each person has the capacity for growth, healing, and positive change when given the right conditions. Rather than offering detailed advice or direction, I focus on trying to create a safe-enough, non-judgmental space where we can explore whatever’s going on for you at your own pace.
It’s a very human, respectful, and empowering process that supports lasting change and can help you to live according to your true values.
