"I have battled with anxiety and sleep troubles for a long time. I plucked up the courage and made an appointment to see Flora after a close friend recommended her. She took time to listen to me in my appointment, which was a great comfort. I now have a tincture to help with my anxiety, and although it is early days, I am beginning to feel more relaxed and in control.

I was also prescribed a tincture blend to take before bed, which has definitely improved my sleep problems over the last few months. I continue to see Flora for appointments, which are also an important part of my treatment, and I feel very supported."

About me

I am a qualified medical herbalist with a lifelong fascination for plants. After studying horticulture, I worked as a grower on organic herb farms and medicinal herb nurseries, which inspired a deep passion for herbal medicine.

I trained as a professional medical herbalist with Betonica School of Herbal Medicine for four years, graduating with distinction, covering in-depth studies of Materia medica, botany, pathology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, nutrition and over 500 hours of clinical training.

I am dedicated to treating patients with herbs, whether it be a chronic condition or a short-term illness. As a member of the professional body, The National Institute of Medical Herbalists, I follow strict ethical standards in my practice and undertake regular continuing professional development.

Aside from treating patients, one of my favourite things to do is teach and pass on herbal knowledge. I connect people with plant medicine through running guided herb walks in rural Gloucestershire and am a member of the Association of Foragers. I also teach on a professional herbal medicine diploma. I am a passionate gardener and grow a number of medicinal herbs, which are processed into medicine.

"I have suffered with skin problems all of my life and having done with every tablet, cream and various other prescriptions and treatments that never worked, I came upon Flora as what was at the time a last ditch attempt to find some relief from my painful skin. Flora's consultation was very in-depth and delved into my diet, lifestyle, sleep, mood etc to get to the root cause of what was happening within my body. A few tweaks to my diet and a herbal tincture were prescribed to take daily, including a cream she made up. The first differences to my skin began happening within weeks. Everything has improved. My skin is continuing to clear, and you wouldn’t see now that I had the problems that I had. I still continue to see Flora to check in and get a new tincture, but less frequently, as I am getting so much better.

Flora truly is brilliant in what she does, she has healed my skin which I never thought possible and given me confidence which I spent years covering and hiding before, I look and feel well and this is all down to Flora expertise. Seeing a Herbalist is now my first choice in getting well."

What I offer

The modern practice of Western medical herbalism combines traditional plant knowledge with scientific research and medical practice.

Medical herbalists are trained in plant medicine to prescribe medicinal plants to treat health concerns. They are trained in the same diagnostic skills as a GP and can safely prescribe herbal remedies that can be taken alongside other medications and treatments.

Herbalists take a holistic approach to treating illness and strive to treat the underlying cause of disease rather than merely the symptoms. They can prescribe personalised and bespoke remedies (tinctures, teas, powders, capsules, creams) tailored to the individual and recognise that no two patients are alike.

Full details and further information regarding consultations can be found on my website here.
