About me

As a psychodynamic counsellor, my practice is based on the idea that by looking at our past experiences, we can better understand why we behave as we do in the present.

Each individual is shaped by their upbringing and past relationships, and by exploring this together, we can work towards greater insight, self-awareness and self-acceptance.

I have worked for Gloucestershire Counselling Service for a number of years as a staff counsellor and an assessor. I also work with young people as part of my private practice and have worked in several secondary schools.

I appreciated Emmie talking and listening to me, and helping me with my past and current issues. I have been able to take on board many thoughts from her and adapted them to my own mindset. I liked her approachable manner as I found it very easy to open up to her. I will be forever grateful.”

What I offer

At times in life, we all face challenges which may feel hard to manage. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, trauma, sadness, lack of confidence or stress, counselling has the potential to help.

Exploring thoughts and feelings can enable you to better understand yourself, your life and your relationships. It can help with seeing things from a different perspective, making positive changes, and developing strategies and resilience in response to life’s challenges.

I am an experienced and accredited counsellor and I provide a safe, supportive and confidential environment in which we can explore whatever is troubling you. I will listen and reflect in a non-judgmental way, offering empathy, kindness and understanding.

Sessions cost £55 and last for 50 minutes.

Counselling helped me to talk about things from my past that I have never felt able to talk about before. I was able to voice my thoughts, and feel that I was not judged if the thoughts were bad. I felt very supported over the time that I had my counselling.

Emmie provided me with a safe and calming space to talk and just 'be'. I now have more confidence in myself and have been able to make healthy boundaries for myself.
