About me

My focus is on psychological trauma and stress-related mental health issues having completed training in a range of psychological approaches to trauma.

I specialise in engaging with those who might have ‘given up’ on psychotherapy due to previous negative or unhelpful experiences. I do not present an ‘expert’ attitude with a ‘one size fits all’ approach but instead adapt to the specific circumstances of the individual – successful therapy requires the skills and knowledge to switch between methods, according to what works best for the individual.I aspire to be a mindful, embodied practitioner, with a genuine ability to connect, creating a safe space for clients to explore their inner world, thus facilitating natural change and healing processes.

I have a strong commitment to my own personal development, having completed individual body psychotherapy, meditation and yoga for over 25 years.

As well as a masters degree in Psychology, I also have professional training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy , Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, Body Psychotherapy, Bodynamic Shock and Trauma  and Yoga and Meditation.

What I offer

I welcome clients of all ages and backgrounds, with little or no experience of working through psychological difficulties as well as those who would like to deepen their knowing of themselves through personal development and psychotherapy.

Many of my clients come with symptoms such as anxiety or depression or simply feel they’re stuck and cannot find a way forward.

I can help with the full range of common mental health issues which can come from everyday problems such as poor sleep, stress and mild anxiety to the challenges a family can face following a brain injury or living with chronic pain.

Many people come to me with previous experience of therapy, CBT or counselling which did not help them move forward or make the changes they were hoping for. The key is to identify the root causes of the problem and not stick with a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

I help people to recover from psychological trauma and long-term conditions including trauma and PTSD, Dissociation and DID, Stress and Return to Work, Anxiety, Depression and Bereavement, Inner Child and Authentic Self, Medically Unexplained Symptoms and Functional Neurological Disorder.
