Struggling for years with an auto-immune disease and following five years living in India, I took the decision to become responsible for my health.
I trained as a Sophrology practitioner - an amazing journey and one that has brought huge transformation to my life. This structured body and mind balancing method has changed my life by managing my stress, my fatigue and emotions. It has helped me find my inner resources to gain more energy, motivation and resilience.
After making a lot of changes and adjustments to my own life, I graduated with a health coach diploma (College of Naturopathic Medicine, London). This has given me the knowledge about the building blocks of wellness and the different tools for coaching.
I provide safe, supportive spaces to explore your goals and intentions. Empowering you to take control of your health and your life.
"I have had weekly sessions with Anne-Laure to help me re-gain my confidence when riding my horse. We have worked on a variety of techniques, such as breathing, visualisation, listening to your body and really thinking about how it feels, and recently she has been teaching me about anchoring. I have followed her advice and practise them all regularly and it has really helped me re-gain my confidence. I now look forward to riding my horse now. My sessions with Anne-Laure are very relaxing and enjoyable. I love having the time to be still and think about nothing! I highly recommend Anne-Laure and sophrology."
Sophrology is is a structured method based on breathing, simple movements, relaxation and concentration exercises. It is simple and easy to learn and can be adapted for all ages and abilities.
Alfonso Caycedo, a neuro-psychiatrist professor, created sophrology in the 1960s. He blended western techniques (hypnotherapy, relaxation, phenomenology) and Eastern techniques (Yoga, Buddhist meditation and Japanese Zen). Sophrology helps to reach a body and mind harmony and deal positively with everyday challenges.
A typical sophrology session will involve you being in a sitting or standing position, eyes closed, whilst I guide you through a series of basic exercises. You focus on your body and release the tensions, learning how to relax your entire body. I will then guide you through specific exercises chosen to address your specific needs.
These session can be held one to one, in group classes or online. I recommend five to six sessions to master the basic techniques.
Clients are asked to practise the techniques every day for 10 to 20 minutes. The more practice, the more efficient these techniques become.
I also provide health coaching to help clients achieve their health goals in a safe and supportive environment (either one to one or groups).
"Jacob has become much more responsible over the year. He was not very organised at the beginning of the year, but has definitely developed over time and has a lot more concentration in class.
Phoebe has been a different child this year compared to last year. She has not had any friendships issues, is a very happy child in class and has made great progress in her learning." Geri, year 6 teacher, Kent
